Reinier Bosch, co-founder of Studio Solarix

Future-oriented solutions to generate energy

Studio Solarix is a disruptive innovation in the market of architecture, product development, design and sustainability; a beautiful facade panel that provides energy to people.

Studio Solarix originates from a joint ambition of Reinier Bosch (product designer, artist) and Marloes van Heteren (architect) to make solar panel collections as a candy shop for architects. Since we know Reinier – already when he was a student - for his creative intelligence, we are curious to learn how he applied this to this business innovation.

For Reinier it started with the ambition to design for a better future. He has always been fascinated by design that adds much more than just appearance. With Solarix he wanted to provide a positive prospect for new generations and create new energy sources. This ambition fuels a way of working where aesthetics and sustainability always go hand in hand. “We envision a future where a solar cell is not a hard technical object, but a soft integrated solution that naturally reacts to a situation. With Solar Design we link energy to beauty through our colorful panels”. Facades become smart skins for a more adaptive building. The impact we make is that we can make energy-neutral buildings.

His creative intelligence enabled him not only to come up with a groundbreaking vision but also gave him the ability to invent novel solutions to a complex problem. Finally, it gave him the creative courage to experiment with different ways of implementation. His approach in short: start with imagining a better future, set aside your assumptions, generate and create new ideas and develop a journey to get there. In doing so the team of Studio Solarix found an intelligent way of combining design, research, technology and sustainability to create an innovative new business and a better environment for all.
