Exploring what’s next
Art as a source for business innovation
As innovation partners we help you make the most of the opportunities that the future brings. One of our sources of inspiration to explore the future is art. Sometimes art can really trigger a primal response and take hold of your senses. It generates movement whether physical, mental or emotional. The Nxt museum in Amsterdam wants to facilitate new and next iterations of creative expression. They focus on art that uses modern tools to reflect the times we live in.
In their exhibition Shifting Proximities they explore a very current theme that many businesses face as well: the human experience and interaction in the face of social and technological change. The eight immersive, multi-sensory installations have been created in collaboration with artists, designers, technologists, scientists and musicians. Movement. Sound. Light. From a mind-blowing audio-visual installation that explores the rise of QR codes worldwide, to a Biometric Mirror with the artificial intelligence’s perspective of facial perfection. Both projects are unusual, complex, inspiring and future-oriented. Another project, Habitat, is a data-driven installation researching the space between humanity and the natural environment and possible future interactions. Uncertainty is the core element and that drives endless questions.
Today’s challenges are more complex than ever. What’s next? We don’t know, but art can provide us with unusual insights and reflections that can take us a step further.
Do artists inspire you to reflect on new possible futures?
